Guadalest - the pearl of the Spanish coast

A very tiny town with a population of about 250 people is located in the middle of the mountains. To get to it, you need to go through a crevice in the mountain; there is no other way to get to Guadalest.⛰

🏰In the town itself, on the top of the cliff, there is a castle of the 11th century, consisting of two fortresses. There is an observation deck with stunning panoramic views of the mountains, valley and emerald-colored lake.

But that's not all.😉
Guadalest is called a museum city.
There are more than 10 of them in this tiny city: a museum of microminiatures, a museum of microgiants, a museum of antique motorcycles and cars, a medieval torture museum, an ethnological museum and the most amazing one - the museum of salt and pepper stands, which has more than 20 thousand items. 👏🏻

💫There is one legend about this town.
❤A long time ago, a local giant fell in love with an ordinary girl and took her as his wife.
One day the giant went to the mountains on his business and met there either a ghost or a local monster. And this monster told him that his beloved had to live until sunset. The giant was frightened, as the sun was already approaching the horizon, and the sky was getting darker. He tore out a piece of rock through which the rays passed in order to extend the life of his betrothed by several minutes. He was angry that he could not save his beloved and threw this piece into the sea, which turned into a small skeleton opposite Benidorm.🏝

⛰The deepest caves in Spain - Canelobre

In the small town of Busot, which is only 25 km from Alicante, in a huge mountain hidden from view there is one amazing place.😍

7 million years ago, flowing waters created a hole in the rock, which is currently the highest cave in the kingdom of Spain. The height from the lowest to the highest point is 75 meters, and the vaults are reminiscent of the architecture of Antonio Gaudi himself.🤩

☝🏻The temperature inside the cave stays at 18°C all year round, and the hall open to visitors has an area of more than 80,000 m3.

Interestingly, during the Spanish Civil War, Canelobre served as a warehouse and workshop for motors, and now, thanks to the amazing acoustics, music concerts are held there in the winter.🎻

This amazing cave is filled with bizarre shapes: stalactites and stalagmites illuminated in different colors, similar to jellyfish, candelabra and an organ, as well as amazing quartz deposits sparkling in the spotlight.😃
