Ring in the New Year at Puerta del Sol to the chimes of its famous clock, and see the best of royal Spain in three days.

We start in Toledo, a medieval city that feels like an open-air museum, with historic streets and panoramic viewpoints. On day three we end the journey at the monastery-palace of El Escorial.

On 31 December, Madrid is at its most beautiful: festive streets, glittering lights, Christmas markets, the scent of hot chocolate and tapas. And at midnight, 12 grapes to the strokes of the clock for luck in the year ahead.

Day 1

Toledo

A medieval city-museum: historic streets and panoramic viewpoints.

Day 2

New Year's Eve in Madrid

31 December is the day Madrid truly shines: festive streets and squares, glittering lights, Christmas markets, the scent of hot chocolate and tapas.

After breakfast, we leave the hotel for Madrid. On the way, we stop at a supermarket so you can pick up grapes, drinks and everything else you need for New Year's Eve. We arrive in the capital at around 11:00.

The Royal Palace

About 2 hours of free time to visit the palace on your own (the entrance ticket is not included). Not keen on the palace? Pop into the Cathedral, wander the surrounding streets, parks and squares, and take some beautiful photos.

Walking tour and Plaza Mayor

A guided walking tour of about 1.5 hours: the historic centre, the main squares and Madrid's iconic landmarks. Then about 3 hours of free time in Plaza Mayor for the Christmas market, souvenirs, gifts and lunch on your own. Food lovers can drop into the Mercado de San Miguel for Spanish delicacies and tapas.

Panoramic tour

We continue exploring the festive capital by coach: a panoramic tour with stops along wide avenues, squares and beautifully decorated streets.

New Year's Eve at Puerta del Sol

As midnight approaches, the group heads to Plaza de Cibeles, and from there we walk with our guide to Puerta del Sol to welcome 2027 to the chimes of the clock. Spanish tradition says you must eat 12 grapes at midnight, one with each stroke of the clock. They're said to bring luck in all 12 months of the new year.

Entry to the square is free and no ticket is needed. Because of the huge crowds, the city may limit capacity and access, so we'll head there early.

Back to the hotel

After the New Year celebrations, the group meets at 00:30 and returns with the guide to the coach and then to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel is not provided on New Year's Eve.

Day 3

El Escorial

The monastery-palace of El Escorial.

  • The tour lasts 3 days. Day two falls on 31 December: welcoming 2027 at Puerta del Sol.
  • Scheduled start is at 07:00, finishing at 20:00.
  • Lunch in Madrid is on your own, during free time in Plaza Mayor.
  • Entry to Puerta del Sol is free, but due to the crowds the city may restrict access, so the group goes to the square early.
  • You can buy grapes and drinks for the celebration during the supermarket stop on the way to Madrid.
  • Dinner at the hotel is not provided on New Year's Eve.
  • Children aged 4 and over are welcome.

Остались с супругом очень довольны
3-х дневной экскурсией 8.12-10.12.25 с гидом Надеждой в Толедо-Мадрид. Хочется отметить насыщенную программу, хорошую организацию, искреннюю заботу, в том числе и заботу о бюджете участников. Шикарный музей Prada - бесплатно, ради этого гид потратила 2 часа личного времени, пока группа кушала и гуляла, завоз на обед не куда попало, а в качественное и одновременно бюджетное место. И вообще стоимость путевки по сравнению с рыночной ценой размещения, еды, количеством посещаемых мест удивительно мала. Я отмечаю это не в первый раз. Такое сейчас встречается так же редко, как снежный человек. 😂 И спасибо фирме «дядя Ваня» за высокопрофессиональных сотрудников! В этот раз впервые ездили с Надеждой, очень приятная и дельная молодая девушка, с прекрасным чувством юмора, интересная в общении, с грамотной речью и умением работать с людьми. (Это какое терпение надо иметь! Одному пописять, другой оголодал, третий козыряет знаниями, перекрикивая гида, четвертый где-то телепается, вся группа ждёт - этим всем руководить.… ой-ой).
