Ring in the New Year on Puerta del Sol as the famous clock chimes midnight, twelve grapes in hand. This is how the Spanish themselves celebrate.

The journey begins at majestic El Escorial, one of the most impressive palace-and-monastery complexes in Spain. Next comes medieval Toledo, the country's ancient capital.

At Puy du Fou España, knights' tournaments and special New Year performances await, all in a medieval setting.

And on 31 December, it's Madrid in full festive mode: decorated streets, twinkling lights, Christmas markets and the smell of hot chocolate and tapas. The Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, the San Miguel Market, and then midnight in the very heart of the capital.

Why you'll love it

  • A true Spanish New Year in central Madrid, not in front of the TV
  • El Escorial, Toledo, Madrid and a medieval show in one trip
  • Hotel, breakfasts and dinners as per the programme already included
  • A Russian-speaking guide by your side, even on New Year's Eve

Pick your date and book online. New Year only comes once a year.

Itinerary

30 December

Toledo and Puy du Fou España

Back at the hotel around 21:00. Dinner.

31 December

Festive Madrid and New Year's Eve

After breakfast we set off for Madrid. On the way we stop at a supermarket, so you can buy grapes, drinks and everything else you need to see in the New Year. We reach the capital around 11:00.

Royal Palace

About 2 hours of free time to visit the palace on your own (the entrance ticket is not included). Not keen on the palace? Pop into the Cathedral or wander the streets, parks and squares nearby.

Walking tour and Plaza Mayor

A guided walking tour of the historic centre, about 1.5 hours. Then about 3 hours of free time on Plaza Mayor: the Christmas market, souvenirs and lunch at your own expense. Right next door is the famous San Miguel Market, with Spanish delicacies and tapas.

Panoramic tour

A panoramic minivan tour of Madrid with stops: grand avenues, squares and festively decorated streets.

New Year on Puerta del Sol

As midnight approaches, the group heads to Plaza de Cibeles, and from there we walk with the guide to Puerta del Sol to welcome 2027 as the clock strikes. Tradition says you must eat 12 grapes at midnight, one on each chime, for good luck in all 12 months of the new year.

At 00:30 the group meets up and walks back with the guide to the minivan, then on to the hotel.
